MAN CRITICAL AFTER GOLF CART CRASH

A 59-year-old man is in a critical condition after the golf cart he was driving crashed at a course near Cessnock.
At around 9.30 this morning, the kart mounted an embankment and careered 15 metres through bushland at the Crowne Plaza at Lovedale, ending up in a creek.
Paramedics treated the man, who suffered multiple injuries, before he was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital by the Westpac helicopter.
Police are investigating whether the man had any pre-existing medical conditions that contributed to the crash.
