LIVERPOOL PLAINS SHIRE COUNCIL AGREES TO OPPOSE CSG PLANS

Liverpool Plains Shire Council has committed to opposing the resumption of coal-seam gas activity on behalf of its community.

The news comes one month after local farmers rallied against the proposed renewal of zombie petroleum licenses in the region.

The council has agreed to voice all concerns to the New South Wales Government.

It says that, while it’s not opposed to CSG entirely, it fears the long-term damage it could have on valuable agricultural land and water.
