LISMORE HUSBAND AND WIFE CHARGED OVER ALLEGED BUSHFIRE FRAUD
A Northern Rivers husband and wife have been charged with fraudulently claiming more than $75,000 in bushfire financial support.
The 34-year-old man and 33-year-old woman were arrested today after police raided an East Lismore home earlier this week – seizing collectible coins, weapons and documents.
Police say the man dishonestly claimed he lost more than 3,000 head of cattle during last year’s bushfires.
Investigations are continuing.
