The Edinglassie Rural Fire Brigade was called out, after a hayshed burst into flames on the outskirts of Singleton on Monday night.
The call came through at 10.45pm and the team dispatched its Cat 6 appliance and support bulk water from Muswellbrook.
The brigade says crews will continue to monitor the scene over the coming days and extinguish bales still burning.
It’s prompted a reminder for people to check their hay stacks and sheds regularly.
