RED CROSS VOLUNTEERS RECOGNISED IN PREMIER’S AWARDS

Northern Rivers’ Red Cross volunteers have been recognised as part of the New South Wales Premier’s Emergency Citation Awards program.

More than 100 volunteers across the region received certificates for their service during last summer’s bushfires.

“We’ve just been there to help people in their journey of recovery because we know it takes a long time and we’re there with people every step of the way,” Poppy Brown, Director of NSW/ACT Australian Red Cross, said.

Red Cross is always looking for more volunteers on the ground, to be better prepared for natural disasters.
