Police are taking fewer patients to Gosford Hospital, now six mental health experts have been posted to local stations.
There’s been a 26 per cent drop in officers taking people to the emergency department, six months since the PACER program began.
The initiative aims to tackle stigma for people experiencing mental illness by ensuring they have access to clinicians when emergency services are called to assist them.
