CONFUSION OVER TWEED SHIRE COUNCIL’S RATE RISE APPLICATION

Tweed Shire Council is one of eight across the state looking to increase rates above the normal rate peg next financial year.
If approved, council says the increase would only apply to the new Kings Forest estate to support the management of environmental protection lands – not the entire Shire.
Applications need to be submitted to the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal by February next year.
