SEARCH RESUMES FOR MISSING SWIMMER
A search has resumed this morning for a woman who went missing while swimming on the far north coast.
At around 7.20pm, police were called to Shark Bay at Evans Head, after reports a woman was seen entering the water and hasn’t been seen since.
A multi-agency search was launched, with Marine Area Command, Marine Rescue, Surf Lifesaving, Fire and Rescue NSW and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter involved.
The search was suspended at around 10pm, with no sign of the woman.
At this time, there have been no other reports of anyone missing.
The woman is described as Caucasian in appearance with a slim build, aged between 30 and 40 years old with blonde dreadlocks.
A pair of thongs were left at the beach, believed to be that of the missing woman.
