NSW GOVERNMENT INVESTS MORE CASH INTO RANGARI ROAD UPGRADE

The New South Wales government has invested more money for an upgrade to Rangari Road.

It had promised to fix the notorious stretch, between Boggabri and Manilla, in the lead-up to the 2019 state election.

But there was a $4-million shortfall when funding was allocated earlier this year.

“We will upgrade the road, seal the road, fix some of the waterways. All up, the commitment to do the road will cost $10.4-million, today we’re topping it up with the $1.4-million shortage and now, we can get the road done and dusted!”

Tamworth and Gunnedah councils have agreed to put up the remaining $2.5-million.
