• The body of missing Hunter mother, Carly McBride, has been found on a property near Scone in the Hunter Valley. The Belmont mother of two disappeared in September 2014, after she went to visit her daughter at an ex-partner’s house in Muswellbrook. Police are treating her death as suspicious.
• Meantime police divers have recovered a body in the search for a diver who went missing in waters off Moreton Island yesterday afternoon.
• The Prime Minister now says ‘heads will roll’ over the Census night fiasco, which continues to plague the government. Millions of Australians are waiting to get online, with the website still down.
• To the Olympics and – our men’s basketball team has given the seemingly unbeatable US team a wake up call – delivering an impressive performance against the reigning Olympic champions, before fading in the final quarter. In swimming, the Campbell sisters are both through to the 100 metre freestyle final, Cate breaking the Olympic record on the way.
• And a man who spent more than two hours scaling the glass facade of Trump Tower in New York, has been grabbed by police through an open window.
• The man used suction cups to climb as high as the 21st floor, he says he wanted to get the attention of the presidential hopeful.
