INJURED SEA TURTLE ‘APRIL’ RELEASED BACK TO SEA AFTER SURGERY

A green sea turtle by the name of April has been released back into the ocean today, after recovering from having rope lodged in her throat.
The turtle was brought to the Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital by the Australian Seabird Rescue 5 weeks ago.
After surgery and weeks of rehab, she was today, set free.
“It’s so exciting to see the hard work, the teamwork that everyone has done together to get her out, and so I feel really really proud of this moment,” Doctor Bree Talbot from the Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital, said.
April was the wildlife hospital’s first patient, after officially opening back in September.
