DELAYED MUNGINDI FIRE CLEAN-UP TO WRAP IN TWO WEEKS

A cleanup of Mungindi’s fire-ravaged main street has been delayed due to insurance problems.

Hazard crews have been working for almost two months to clean the town’s main street after a fire destroyed three buildings, including the only supermarket.

The cleanup is expected to be complete in the next fortnight, with hopes the destroyed businesses will choose to rebuild.

A temporary, pop-up supermarket is open at the local RSL Club.
