DEAF CHILDREN ENCOURAGED TO GET ACTIVE

While participation in group sport can be overwhelming for many deaf and hearing impaired children, a unique program, rolled out on the Central Coast today, is hoping to inspire a love of getting active.
In its third year, interest in the program has doubled with more than 20 children taking part.
Today participants were given tips from one of the greats.
“in my time we never had this opportunity so this is a great program to have so that we can so we can talk one on one to get these tips more involved down the track,” Deaflympics Competitor
It’s hoped more talented athletes will join the initiative.
