A teenager has been taken to hospital after being bitten by a shark at Port Macquarie this morning.
The 13-year-old was surfing around 30 metres from the shore at Town Beach, when he was bitten on his ankle and finger.
Emergency services were called to the beach just after 6am, and the boy was treated by paramedics before being taken to Port Macquarie Base Hospital.
His injuries are not life threatening.
Lifeguards have now closed Town Beach.
