TEEN CHARGED OVER ALLEGED HOME INVASION

A teenage boy has been charged over an alleged assault at a Lake Macquarie home over the weekend.

Just before 1am on Sunday, officers were called to a house on Codrington Street, Barnsley, following reports a man was assaulted.

Police were told two males known to the occupants, were at the home earlier in the night for a party, but left after allegedly being involved in an altercation with the 17-year-old male who lives there.

The two returned to the home on two separate occasions, and allegedly assaulted the teenager, before driving away.

After inquiries, a 17-year-old boy was arrested at a home in Edgeworth just after 5pm yesterday.

He was taken to Toronto Police Station and charged with a string of offences.

The teenager was granted conditional bail to appear before a children’s court on December 15.
