PETITION LAUNCHED AGAINST PEPP11 EXTENSION

The Federal Member for Newcastle is mobilising the community in the fight against plans for oil and gas rigs to be built off our coast.
Sharon Claydon has launched a petition against the extension of the PEP11 Petroleum Exploration Permit, which extends from Newcastle to Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
An application is being assessed by both the state and federal governments, with the commonwealth minister having the power of veto.
“The message is loud and clear to minister Pitt, Newcastle says no to any extension to the PEP11 license and it’s time to listen to the people.” – Sharon Claydon, Federal Member for Newcastle.
The petition can be signed online or in the MP’s Newcastle office.
