SPRINGFIELD RESIDENTS ANGRY OVER PLANS TO START UP OLD QUARRY AGAIN

A controversial plan by Gosford council to put a recycling plant at the site of an old quarry in Springfield has residents seeing red.

Claiming it will produce dust, noise and de-value their homes.

  1. I am appalled that council would even put forward a proposal of this type in a residential area. Health, safety and the community should come before the council making money. This land is zoned conservation. If council rezoned it to put a concrete recycling facility in then residents have no protection by zoning laws because that would be a clear demonstration that they think they are above them.
    It would also demonstrate total disregard for the health and wellbeing of the community and the ecologies that reside in the surrounding bushland. Recycle yes but This is not the place for it.

  2. Seriously the communmity is growing angrier by the day about this proposal. Its an injustice that it is even on the table. Gosford council were only ever meant to retain operating rights on the quarry to finish construction on the Yerrin Bridge and if that loophole had of been closed at the time this type of underhanded schemimg wouldnt even be possible. Once again they’ve broken the trust of the people who keep them in a job- THE RATEPAYERS
