Parts of the Hunter and Central Coast Coast have copped a massive deluge today – with several roads in the region flooded, and blocked off.
In the Hunter, Medowie Road is closed between Nelson Bay Road and Richardson Road at Port Stephens, and all flights in and out of Newcastle Airport have been cancelled.
It comes after the Bureau of Meteorology issued a severe weather warning for heavy rain and strong winds today.
With the wet weather expected to stay for the next few days, NSW SES is urging people in the area to consider road conditions before getting behind the wheel, secure loose items around the house, and call for help if it’s needed.
