$3.9 MILLION UPGRADES TO DUMARESQ DAM TO BOOST REGIONAL TOURISM
Armidale council has secured $3.9 million to improve Dumaresq Dam.
The federal and state government grant will fund a new boat ramp, barbecue area, community stage and camp sites.
It’s hoped the cash injection will help boost tourism.
“The reality is Australians aren’t going to be travelling overseas for a very long time and upgrading tourist facilities like Dumaresq Dam and having camping available is going to see a huge tourist boon for the region,” says member for Northern Tablelands, Adam Marshall.
Work will begin early next year.
