Residents of Tamworth and Armidale will get a taste of sleeping rough tonight, in support of an annual homelessness campaign.
The St Vincent de Paul Society’s “Community Sleepout” is being run virtually this year, with participants encouraged to spend the night in their cars, backyards or even on their own couch.
Participants can tune into a live-stream, which is being hosted by Channel Nine.
165 participants have so far raised more than $65,000 for the cause, which will help Vinnies provide crisis accommodation, food and financial aid to those in need.
