To mark Airport Safety Week, the team at Ballina Byron Gateway Airport walked the length of the runway today, looking for objects which can cause damage to aircraft.
The airport remains one of the busiest in New South Wales, with an increase in the number of flights on offer ahead of schoolies and the Christmas period.
It comes as Fly Pelican extends its service between Ballina and Canberra until the end of January next year.
