The New South Wales Government has announced work will shortly begin to protect the Beach Byron Bay Cafe from severe erosion.
Sandbagging at Clarkes Beach is expected to start on Monday, and will take up to three weeks to complete.
The Department of Environment says it will help in providing temporary protection, while a longer-term solution is explored.
Similar work was done last year at the Reflections Holiday Park.
