SIX INJURED IN POLICE PURSUIT IN GOSFORD

A teenage driver and five others are in hospital this evening after a police pursuit on the Central Coast.

Officers were chasing what they allege was a stolen car around 10:30pm last night on Showground Road in Gosford before it slammed into oncoming traffic, injuring an innocent woman.

Police allege the Hyundai Getz was a stolen pizza delivery car.

When signalled to pull over, the driver sped away with the car’s lights off.

Less than a minute later the collision took place.

Five 17-year-olds were trapped inside the Getz, while a 43-year-old woman on her way to work was stuck inside a Honda Jazz.

A 16 year old boy is fighting for his life in Liverpool Hospital, two other males-  a 17 year old and 19 year old – are in a serious condition at Royal North Shore.

At John Hunter in Newcastle, a 17 year old girl is in a serious condition, while the 43 year old woman in the second vehicle is serious at Gosford.

Investigations are continuing.
