HUNTER ICONS CHOSEN AS FERRY NAMESAKES

Three notable Novocastrians are among those chosen as namesakes for Sydney’s ten new river class ferries.
The vessels will be named after painter Margaret Olley, footballer Cheryl Salisbury and wheelchair athlete Kurt Fearnley.
Built overseas, the ferries will carry passengers on the Parramatta River.
The first four are due to begin final testing on Sydney Harbour in the coming days.
