Tamworth Regional Council has managed to pull up more than 700 sleeves in this year’s ‘Council’s Blood Challenge.’
398 whole blood and 361 plasma donations were collected over the three month challenge in the local government area.
Red Cross says Tamworth’s efforts alone have helped to save almost 1,200 lives.
The local team finished second overall, narrowly beaten by Blacktown City Council, who secured a further 52 donations.
