TWEED MAN CHARGED OVER ALLEGED STABBING
A man has been charged following a horrific domestic-related stabbing on the state’s far north coast.
Emergency services were called to a home on Dundee Drive at Banora Point on Sunday night, following reports a woman had been stabbed multiple times in her leg, stomach and head.
Paramedics treated the 22-year-old woman before she was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital for further treatment.
Officers established a crime scene and began an investigation into the stabbing.
Following extensive inquiries, police visited a unit on Kennedy Drive at Tweed Heads West last night and arrested a 23-year-old man.
He was taken to Tweed Heads Police Station and charged with wound with intent to commit grievous bodily harm.
He was refused bail to appear at Tweed Heads Local Court today.
