PETITION LAUNCHED FOR THE LASS TO RETURN TO LATE NIGHT TRADING
A petition’s been launched to bring back late night trading at Wickham’s Lass O’Gowrie Hotel.
The much-loved live music hub stayed open until 3am on Friday and Saturday nights for more than 15 years under old owners, the Lobb Family.
Current licensee and publican, Andrew Dunne, says when the pub changed ownership last year, he discovered a 24 hour liquor licence allowing the Lass to stay open until late was actually issued in error back in 2003.
It’s meant the new owners have had to close the pub at midnight.
Mr Dunne says they’re working on applying for an Extended Trading Authorisation, but they need the public’s help.
So far, the petition has garnered more than 600 signatures and it’s seeking 1000.
