CALLS FOR AG PERMITS FOR NSW/QLD BORDER CONTINUE AHEAD OF GRAIN SEASON
There’s been a push for an agricultural permit system to be implemented on the Queensland and New South Wales border, ahead of grain season.
The New South Wales Farmers Association says that while the border expansion will help with some staff shortages, more needs to be done.
“We’res still short of labour to start with, there’s just a shortage and we’ve just got to make sure that the labour that we have got can get over these borders, and the Queensland border is still a problem,” New South Wales Farmers Association President, James Jackson, said.
Locals are being urged to help pick up the slack, anyone seeking work should visit the Farmers Association website.
