Aspiring chefs got a chance to learn from the best, when Australian chef and TV presenter Paul West visited Tamworth this week.
Born and raised in Murrurundi, Paul said he was happy to be back in the north west, imparting his wisdom to students ahead of the opening of the Youth Council Cafe.
“To me, high school aged children that have so much vision and dedication and passion to bettering their own community is something that I take a great deal of inspiration from myself,” said Paul West.
“I think it’s really important, not only to get other jobs but to sustain yourself as well and being able to cook for ourselves is a really great thing and that gives us more experience.”
The community cafe opens next month.
