REPORT REVEALS SPIKE IN OVERDOSE DEATHS ACROSS TAMWORTH AND GUNNEDAH

A new report by the Penington Institute has revealed an unfortunate increase in unintentional overdose deaths across Tamworth and Gunnedah.

A total of 26 people died of an accidental overdose between 2014 and 2018 – eight more than in the previous five years.

For the past decade, regional New South Wales has recorded a higher number of unintentional overdoses than that of Greater Sydney.

The reasons behind this steep increase remain unclear.
