NEW LIFELINE VIDEO COUNSELLING SERVICE COMES TO NORTHERN RIVERS

As R U OK day comes to end, the conversation around mental health is being encouraged to continue in the Northern Rivers with a new telehealth service available.
Funded by the NRMA, the video counselling service aims to provide ongoing support, as demand for help rises.
“We’ve had several days this year where we’ve had more calls than we’ve ever answered in our history. It’s shown there’s been a surge of about 25% against normal usage numbers, and 50% of those callers want to talk about COVID,” Regional Lifeline Manager, Niall Mulligan, said.
While the program is aimed at those struggling with the impacts of COVID-19 and last year’s bushfires, anyone who needs support, is encouraged to contact Lifeline.
