A 21-year-old woman, who was disqualified from driving until 2043, has allegedly been caught behind the wheel west of Newcastle.
Officers attempted to stop a Mazda on Douglas Street at Wallsend just after 2 o’clock on Saturday morning, when it’s alleged the driver sped away.
Police tracked the car through Birmingham Gardens, Maryland and Fletcher, with the pursuit reaching speeds up to 100km/h.
The woman, who is currently on parole, was eventually arrested under a house on Binney Street at Wallsend, after the car broke down on nearby Newcastle Road.
She was charged and refused bail to face court again on Monday.
