Detectives have charged a man over the alleged sexual assault of a young girl in the Hunter last year.
Just after 10am yesterday, investigators arrested a 59-year-old man at a home in Beresfield.
He allegedly sexually assaulted the girl, who was aged between 11 and 12, several times.
The 59-year-old was charged with six offences, and appeared before Raymond Terrace Local Court yesterday.
He was refused bail to appear before Maitland Local Court on October 28.
