RECESSION | COAST BUSINESSES WON’T BOUNCE BACK FOR FOUR YEARS

It could take four years for the Central Coast to bounce back from the recession.
Business New South Wales says all levels of government must speed up infrastructure projects to create jobs for young people.
Around 11,000 businesses remain reliant on the JobKeeper payment locally – and there are fears two-fifths won’t survive once the subsidy dries up.
“We need to have a look at how JobKeeper can be refined for those industries that are hardest hit – and are the second highest employers on the Central Coast, like construction, like retail, like hospitality,” BNSW Regional Director, Paula Martin said.
