SOD TURNED ON NEW DOMESTIC VIOLENCE REFUGE IN GUNNEDAH

There was some promising news for Gunnedah today, with the sod officially turned on a new domestic violence refuge.
‘Allawah House’ will provide safe accommodation for women and children during times of crisis.
The house will offer 24-hour emergency contact and be supported by the Salvation Army.
GJ Gardner Homes is undertaking the build – it’s not yet known how long construction will take.
The project has been funded by the community, and a $196,000 grant from the state government’s ‘Country Communities Fund’.
