Fire has destroyed a unit block in Rutherford overnight, forcing 20 people from their homes.
Fire and Rescue received multiple calls for help shortly before 2 o’clock this morning.
More than 10 crews from the Hunter battled the blaze at the two-storey unit complex on Churchill Crescent.
All residents were safely evacuated, but two of the units could not be saved.
The scene has been over to NSW Police.
