COASTIE SPEAKS AT COAL ASH DAM INQUIRY

A Lake Munmorah man has spoken of his private health battle during a parliamentary hearing into coal ash dam remediation.
Gary Blaschke from the Coal-Ash Community Alliance raised concerns about links between chemicals stored at the Vales Point power station and a spate of health conditions.
“I was diagnosed with liver cancer just a couple days ago,” Mr Blaschke said.
“So if this is not a human health issue, nothing is a human health issue.”
Delta Electricity’s submission maintains its coal ash dam, which has been capped with clean fill, is safe.
