SEARCH CONTINUES FOR MISSING ROCK FISHERMAN ON THE NORTH COAST

A search has resumed for a missing fisherman on the North Coast, who fell into the water while rock fishing yesterday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to Little Beach at Red Rock, about 45km north of Coffs Harbour, responding to reports a man had been washed into the ocean while rock fishing about 2.30pm.

RAAF and Westpac Rescue helicopters, Red Rock Surf Club volunteers and Marine Rescue vessels scoured the area for six hours.

They suspended the operation around 8:30pm last night, before resuming the search at 7:30 this morning.

Water police have not yet had any luck finding the man – aged in his 20s – today.

He’s believed to be visiting Australia from Malaysia.
