The mercury will continue to rise, with temperatures already in the forties across much of northern NSW.
Coastal areas are getting some relief with the sea breeze cooling things down, however inland areas will continue to swelter throughout the afternoon.
It’s a taste of things to come, with temperatures predicted to hit the low to mid forties throughout the majority of northern NSW tomorrow.

Hi Gavin, Have to say we switch to NBN news because your weather reports gave more detail then the channel we use to watch. Last night the 6.30pm weather glimpse put me into a spin because of the plans for this weekend ( the port 24 hour mountain bike race) I was texting friends getting them to watch your full report at 6.55pm. My wife was laughing saying your going to get very wet, then when you did the full report at 6.55pm, your report was totaly different, my wife had not seen the first report thought I was losing it. My friends I had texted questioned my information & I was not clear on what the weather was now going to be like for the weekend.
What are you doing to me Gavin, you are normally spot on?
