SNAPPED COLLARBONE ENDS RIDER’S SEASON

Tamworth rider Mitch Carrington’s taste of the Belgium cycling scene has been cut short after snapping his collarbone during an event last week.
He was making his way to the front of the pack in an inter-club race when it happened.
Carrington will now return home in the coming weeks.
Coach Ray Griffin says the 22-year-old is naturally disappointed – after showing some good form in the recent Santos tour.

“The road narrowed, and the guy in front of him – who he was following through to the front – just had his wheel fold under him. And, Mitch had nowhere to go, and Mitch headed for a drain on the side of the road and was catapulted over the handlebars.” – Ray Griffin, coach
