MAN ALLEGEDLY ASSAULTS 12-YEAR-OLD AT JUNIOR RUGBY LEAGUE GAME

A 39-year-old man has been charged after allegedly assaulting a 12-year-old boy at a junior rugby league game on the Central Coast.

Police were called to Carrington Oval, Narara, about 11am yesterday, after a fight broke out.

It’s alleged the man ran onto the field and assualted a 12-year-old boy.

The minor was taken to Gosford Hospital for treatment of facial injuries.

Police later arrested the 39-year-old man at Bateau Bay home about 1:30pm.

He was taken to Gosford Police Station and charged with common assault.

He’ll front Gosford Local Court in November.
