RESTRICTIONS SET TO EASE AS CHAFFEY DAM FINALLY HITS 25 PERCENT

There’s some optimistic news in Tamworth today, with Chaffey Dam finally hitting 25 per cent capacity overnight.

The major catchment has been hovering just above 24 percent in past days, with some extra rain runoff pushing the dam past the critical level.

One quarter capacity is the trigger point for Tamworth, Moonbi and Kootingal to drop to Level 4 water restrictions.

“I’ll be in the office very early on Monday morning to sign off on that and we’re expecting that water restrictions will be reduced to Level 4 on Monday week.”

Council is asking the community to continue being water-conscious as restrictions ease.
