FAR NORTH COAST RECEIVES GRAND SLAM CHARITY SURFING EVENT
Some of Australia’s best surfers will shortly descend on the Far North Coast, with the World Surf League announcing the Tweed Coast Pro has been added to the line-up for the Grand Slam of Surfing.
The broadcast-only charity competition will see surfers given just three days notice to travel to each location to compete over two days.
“This particular region in the coast of New South Wales is so wave rich and rich in culture and the history of surfing as well so it will be great to bring the event here – I know the athletes are all excited,” General Manager of the World Surf League Andrew Stark said.
It’s yet to be decided if the round will be held at Cabarita Beach or Fingal Head.
The Grand Slam of Surfing will run across the nation from next month until the end of October.
