WAMBERAL RECOVERY HANDED TO COUNCIL

The erosion crisis at Wamberal Beach has entered a new phase, with the state’s Recovery Coordinator stepping aside today.

Lee Shearer will continue to help a task force plan for a long term solution to reinforce the dune.

The group’s first meeting was held yesterday, aimed at fast-tracking plans for a sea wall.

All but one home has been cleared for residents to return.

Council will continue to oversee emergency work.
