THOUSANDS OF CENTRAL COAST COFFEE CUPS SPARED FROM LANDFILL

With keep-cups sidelined to keep us safe during the pandemic, more coffee cups are winding up in landfill.
Recycling bins, like this one at Erina Fair, are thankfully making a difference – sparing 200,000 cups from the tip in the past 12 months.
Instead, they’re turned into a variety of new products.
“The products that the cups are turned into recycled furniture, wheel stops for car parks and kerbside guttering,” Centre Manager, Stephen Ross said.
They’re even used to make coffee trays.
