ALLUM AND CLARK RACE ACROSS THE LAKE

He finished competing at his local surf lifesaving club championships at 8 o’clock last night, but Cronulla’s Chris Allum still had enough petrol in the tank to win this morning’s Across the Lake Swim.
“I love coming to lake mac, it’s a tough swim, 4k’s isn’t for the faint hearted and I’m looking forward to maybe coming up next year and doing it again.”
Redhead Surf Club’s Isak Costello was second up the ramp, less than two minutes later.
And despite winning the women’s division, former Australian long distance champion Shelley Clark isn’t considering a comeback.
“I’m 31 but my shoulders are about 55 and so mentally and physically I couldn’t go back to full time swimming.”
