SMITHS LAKE TO OPEN FOR FIRST TIME IN MORE THAN TWO YEARS

Midcoast Council is preparing to open Smiths Lake for the first time in more than two years, after the water reached the two metre level.

With rain predicted for the weekend, council is taking the opportunity to open the lake using machinery.

Boat access to the lake will be restricted during the opening – council is urging the public to avoid the beach while the work is carried out.
