NEW CANCER COUNCIL VEHICLE TO IMPROVE PATIENT TRANSPORT IN TAMWORTH
A new vehicle has arrived in Tamworth to assist in the transportation of local cancer patients.
The car, funded by Newcastle Permanent’s Charitable Foundation, will service patients as far as 100 kilometres from Tamworth.
The additional vehicle is set to allow further flexibility for North West patients and carers, who may otherwise be unable to access the hospital.
“Bringing them in to the North West Cancer Centre for their treatment… free of charge to those patients, which means so much to those patients, as well as Cancer Council.”
Last year, more than 2,000 medical trips were completed under the program across New South Wales.
