PILOT AND PASSENGER PRAISED OVER SURVIVING HELICOPTER ACCIDENT
Australia’s transport safety investigator has praised the actions of a pilot and passenger, who survived a helicopter crash at Port Stephens last year.
A report found the pilot was forced to make a hard-landing near Bobs Farm on December 7, at the height of the bushfire season.
The water-bombing chopper’s driveshaft failed due to a fatigue crack.
Both people onboard escaped without injury.
