A man will face court today after allegedly sexually touching a child at a Newcastle shopping centre earlier this week.
Just after 2pm on Monday, an 11-year-old girl and a family member were grocery shopping at Woolworths Marketown, when it’s alleged a 49-year-old man inappropriately touched the child inside the store.
The man bolted and officers from Newcastle City Police District were notified.
Following inquiries, a 49-year-old man attended St Mary’s Police Station and was arrested.
He was charged with intentional sexual touching of a child and was refused bail to appear at Penrith Local Court today.
